So my RBTA blew its lovely self all over my orange birds best last night. This is how it currently looks. Do you guys think I can frag off the pieces that still have life or is it a goner? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357767985.188207.jpg

Wow. Sorry to hear. I'd say keep it in there. It may recover given some time...and that's why I don't keep anemones.

I would def. frag a live piece and leave the rest to see if it comes back.

This might be wrong but I would leave it, you still have some PE at the end. Eventually it will grow back.

I would frag a couple of stalks, but leave the rest alone. You never know...it just MIGHT make it.

It might make it, but I think you should frag a tiny piece just in case.

Sorry to hear this happen to you :(

To be honest, I would frag a bit of it off and restart. It's not going to encrust of the portion that's already dead because Birdsnest just doesn't really encrust. It will just continue growing from where it is now. With that being said, I don't think it's going to be a total loss. Sorry buddy.

Agree; I'd let it ride for now.

If things take a turn for the worse from here, then frag.

Mine grew back... It wasn't as catastrophic but it all came back in time.

I'm sure it did, in time but here's the deal. With the speed in which BN builds it's skeletal structure, he could have a full colony again before this one decides to recover. I only say this because it looks like total tissue loss on the skeleton. There is no life left on that skeleton except the end. Do I think the damage is probably done? Yeah I think it is. If this were my coral what would I do? I would frag it up and let it take off again. BN just grows too fast. If this were an Acro, I would say "wait it out and see" because acro encrusts fast for the most part but not BN. This is just one man's opinion. Everyone's is going to differ.
