are dried out sponges against the law to buy? if not, where would be a good online store to purchase these? i am thinking about adding them to my tank for looks. i dont have the time to take care of the real thing. my friend just recently bought her a dried out sponge.. it was a long orange finger like spongE. real nice looking to add to her tank. it was huge, and she only paid 7.50 for it. there going on ebay for around $30 w/o s&h. i dont have the time to drive to florida for myself. any info would be appreciated. BUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS ILLEGAL.

Can't imagine why it would be illegal. I don't know if it's a good idea to put something like that in a tank, though. Seems like it would start to decompose the minute it was reintroduced to water, and polute the system.

i've had one dried sponge in my tank for about a month and a half so far, and it has not affected my tank in any way.

Interesting. I would have never thought to even try!
