dosing question

I am pretty stocked up on lps now. I am dosing alk twice a week now. What baffles me is mag and .ca remain stable is there a reason for this? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

 

Are you corals growing?
As they grow they should be using calcium.
If the corals are growing and calcium is staying the same I guess it depends on what time frame we're talking about here.
Days? Weeks?
If it's staying the same for weeks and corals are growing. I would look at a new test kit.

 

Been two weeks since I added the frogspawn and bubble. will wait another week and keep testing. Test kit is about a year old. Everything else is growing like weeds haha.

 

Two stony corals are not going to utilize magnesium and calcium that quickly. You start seeing your demand increase when you have significant coralline algae growth, clams or increased numbers of stony corals.
You should probably post your values next time you test.

 

Bit afraid to start sps haven't attempted them. Lps isn't as hard as I thought.
