For those with smaller tanks, i think it's easier to achieve that ideal flow pattern. BluePhish is 110% correct, you may have the right turnover rate, but hell...if it's not in the right spot, it's not doing anything!! I had to tinker with mine so it hit all the dead spots. I have 2 koralia 1's (400gph each) on either side pointing towards the front center and right behind where the output of the K1's meet i have my return on the back wall rated at 300gph...I then have a MJ1200 pointed behind my rocks to kill any dead spots that are present. I have a 29G tank and the dimensions are 30.25 x 12.5 x 18.75...and i would say that it's around 48x...pretty good huh?

It's all about having the right things in the right places. It took me a very long time to find all the right positions and have it actually work.

    I have a 65 G with a 600 GPH return. (2) Koralia 1, and (1) Koralia 3.

Hmmmm. Thought I had more. Currently I have 28x (in the tank) turnover with about 2500GPH in a 90g. Overall, I am running 34x if you count the skimmer in the sump. The plan is to add one more overflow at 525GPH and two more Koralia-3s and bring the tank circulation to 52x.

My Return is a 5800GPH Hammerhead that is split into 3 returns. 2 Wavyseas and 1 normal lockline
I then have a closed loop on a Hammerhead as well. the closed loop is on an OM 4-way. This diverts the water so that 2 directional lines are spiting the 5800ghp per 60sec interval.

    I do not. 55 gallon

    2 Koralia 2 = 1200gph (combined)
    2 HOB filters = 600gph (combined)

For about 1800 gph. I need at least 2200 for 40x.

I will be adding an HOB skimmer that will replace one of my HOB filters - that will actually reduce my flow by about 50gph.

I have yet figured out how I want to correct this. Having trouble deciding where I might want additional PH and that keeps me from deciding if I need one or two PH and if they should be Koralia 1 or 2...

My current 2 PH are in upper back corners pointing front and middle.
