Do you use a ground probe and why?

Do you use a ground probe, and why.

    I would rather no switch had an impact on this outlet. You can imagine I have had my entire tank system shut off before because someone flipped the wrong switch.

    It is now taped, lol, so no one accidentally does it but if my leaving the red wire off fixes it then that would be great.

    So we typed at the same time.

    No- You did nothing wrong. The red wire should be the switchleg (the wire operated by the wall switch.) If you prefer not having the outlet switched, you did exactly the right thing.

    So the correct wiring would be the ground att'd to the green screw; the white to white, and the black wire to the copper colored screw.

    Do you know if there are other receptacles downstream of this one?

    None downstream that i know of. I guess i will be finding out over time. :)

    Sure thing. :)

    If you have outlets downstream of which you're unaware, the most common manifestation would be an adjacent outlet no longer working.

    If this is the case, let me know and we'll move on.

    I had stray voltage and was getting shocked.. put in a ground probe and issue is gone.

    I also was losing snails.. notice someone posted about it.

    I have heard that voltage can cause issues with parameters, is this true?
