do I need a light

    I have moved some of the live rock from my display tank to my wet dry. I replaced the bio balls with the rock. My question is do I need to put a light in over the rock? There is nothing else in there but a heater and a skimmer and a the return pump

    Only if you want coraline to grow on it. Otherwise, it is perfectly fine in the dark.

    Do a search on cryptic zones. That system makes great use of no light areas.
