    Hey all.

I have a fluval 304 on my tank. I unplugged it to clean it up as i always do once in a while. But now it has a leak, when i turn it back on water just drips out like crazy. Now im not looking on how to fix it (that i can figure it out), what i would like to know is do i really need it? I have about 20 pounds of LR and about 40 maybe 50 pounds of base rock that have been in the tank for about 6 months so im pretty sure its live or pretty close to it. I also have a prizm protein skimmer which is working pretty good i think. So with all of this do i relay need the fluval 304?

    Thanks

    Marc...

I'd say you don't. If you remove it, take out the carbon bag and sponge and put it in the output of the skimmer or somewhere in the water column so your system doesn't shock out too much.

One benefit of keeping it is more water flow.

If you get a sump, you can put the carbon bag in there. ;) :)
