The title says it all. I'm curious if what I'm seeing floating is pods that died going through my return pump, or their molts? TIA

    Molts I believe vankirk
    same as other crustacean species

I have not seen any really large ones in my set up
but after dark or 1st thing in morning I see some casts that seem to be about 8mm - 1cm long drifting about occasionally

I always thought it the leftovers from my mantis, but now it makes sense. Mine get pretty brave and come out during the day, especially during feeding, its quite funny watching them try to get a piece twice there size. Max i've seen is about 1cm.
