Do Clown Fish Jump?

I've had a hood on my aquarium because I had stock lighting, but I am getting a new T5 fixture in a day or two. I was planning on taking the hood off and putting the new fixture above it: About 3 inches from the top. Is it likely that the clowns are going to jump?

 

all fish can jump but in my opinion it is unlikly for a clownfish to jump

 

Unless something is bullying them its unlikely.

I lost my male clown to jumping the one and only time I left the lid up of an hour or so. I had him for 3 years and frequently heard him hit the lid in jumping attempts.

All fish have the potential to jump, clowns are not high on the jumping list like wrasses and such.

Look into mesh screening "do it your self lids "that are common, provide for increased oxygenation, allow adequate light penetration and prevent fish from jumping.

 

+1 Tell that to my orange clown! I have to bat him back in the tank during some feedings, pretty much anytime I'm near the tank, he'll make a run if the cover is off!

Mine was found on the floor by my son after jumping out. No idea how long he was out of the tank, but he was covered in dog hair and not looking good. He survived with no long term problems and never jumped again!!

 

Well, I got the lights the other day and wanted to see how they would react. They seem to be just fine without a lid. I'll monitor them and if they attempt to jump, I will build a lid. I'll keep you guys informed

 

Clowns will not only jump but they'll freaking hunt you down with a 410 and take you out without blinking!!!!!
