    The model C split sump is what I'm going after, though I will be using a 10 rubbermaid container for the fuge.

    I use a swing type check valve to prevent back flow during a power failure. Got it from Marine Depot.

    I used one of Melev's designs for the 34gal sump/fuge I built. He has a great site for sump designs and how to build them. There is some info on my site:

    that might help with design...the first two pages is a 20gal tank retro then the rest has the new sump design etc.
