Here brother this place will save you a ton of Cash,
    http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/cree-led.html

I personally like the 2 Watt LED's as I found that if your going to do Hard corals often times the 1 watt units are not strong enough,
And 3 watt units are too much and burn stuff.

But Two watt units are perfect. I talked to one of the sellers online and I got 3 led 2 watt units Using Cree LED most all of them I ordered were White Units and Blue units each 3 led 2 watt units had its own driver or Ballast at their base and were of a twist lock configuration.
Then simpley mounted them each and daisy changed electrical cord from one to the other the Ballasts are 120 Volt them stuck a plug on the end then into a 5 dollar these worked great :)

Addendum I had him make me an additional ten units using the same 3 LED 2 watt, but these had One Red, One Green, and One Yellow Led in each unit, this Completed the Healthy Light Spectra :)

the 300ma driver will drive any diode 300ma or higher, it will just run it at 300ma. Is this what you are asking?

Yes the intensity will decrease to about 85% of the maximum intensity at 100% on a dimmer
