hi, i am about to build a wooden canopy or hood (what's the diff.) for my 125gal. Right now i have only NO light fixture and my tank's gonna be FOWLR, but i will be getting into reef a year or so later. therefore, i will probably get MH retro kit for it, so, i was wondering how tall should i make it? is 16" enough?

    thanks!

That's plenty. Mine is about 14" tall and houses 2 metal halides and 2 vho bulbs.
There wil be plenty of room left to dissipate heat and put fans in if they are necessary.
