DIY Canopie for my 30g breeder tank.

i was not going to put a canopy on my tank but I'm thinking I'm going to. the tank is right next to my bad and i really want to control the light as much as much as i can.


i all ready have a idea in my head.

but i really would like to here everyone's ideas and diy builds of there own before i jump into it.

i do not remember me making a thread about canopy's?

 

i have questions i have seen videos where on the side of the canopy they will put a block of wood all around the canopy and the wood sits on top of the canopy is this the best why to do it.

 

Yes, if you mean like this..this is best.

A bock of wood on the iner side of each end. Blocks will sit on tank top frame. There would be a lip around the tank which also covers the trim there.

 

The picture above is like what I will have for my 29g. Same idea though. Yes, it will have a top, that drawing is a cut-away. The front 1/3 is the part that will open.

ok cool as last question about the light i ever had a light so i would not know but how far does the hood hang over?
