    Hi All

Need some advice with my Xenia. I noticed last night one of the stalks seemed to be melting, and now today another one seems to be doing the same thing.
    Params:
    Amm - 0
    Nitrite - 0
    Nitrate - 10
    Phos - < 1
    Dkh - 11
    Calc - 600
    Mag - 1500

    x4 T5 (2 actinic, 2 10k)
    Carbon and rowaphos ran 24/7

I know my mag and calc is a lil high, but i cant imagine that is causing this.

nope - i dont test for it, nor do i dose it. I just do regular water changes. Xenia is the only thing that isnt looking to good. Other then the effected parts, it looks great! Im a little puzzled as i've never heard of xenia just disintergrating away.

Yes it does, and does well with nitrates too - however, as most people here will tell you, your salt mix should contain enough iodine.

Thanks for the input, at first i thought the same, but i have not added anything to my tank for good while now and i only noticed this happening last night. I'm not ruling it out.... but i find it hard to believe.

I don't think it is proven that any corals need iodine, but xenia seems to either thrive or fail for no reason

I've not changed my salt mix. Do you think maybe a should cut away the effected parts?
