It almost looks like an emerald crab -- hard to tell the color to be sure but has the same shape/features as my emerald -- which if it is it's completely safe.

I would flush or feed to a mantis or trigger. I don't trust any crab.

I also think its a emerald crab and I have had them for many yrs with no problems. The only crab that I wouldnt have is a arrow crab.

Amcarrig -- you would flush a crab but not a damsel??? ;D

If something is a problem that you didn't want I don't have an issue of flushing it but what else do you have in your tank?? Is there an issue of something it could harm? I have crabs (that sounds bad) and like them all but they were on purpose. Most likely its just a scavenger but if you're worried about corals you could pull it out or even put it in your fuge if you have one but thats just me.

Some crabs eat corals and fish so, yup, I'd flush it unless I had a separate tank to keep it in. If that crab was in my tank, I have the option of feeding it to my mantis shrimp. :) I have never seen an emerald crab that hairy so I don't think that's what you've got.

    No crabs, no way.

    This guy really looks suspicious.

Find it a new home, or keep in sump.
