    When I first notice this little dude he was no bigger than an astria, in fact I shrugged it off as a 5 tip Astraea but its growing an growing big

    It looks to be an Asterina star. That is about as large as I have seen one.

    It's an Asterina.

    Makes no difference how many legs they have for identification purposes.

    They can reproduce by lateral fission and end up any number of legs.

    Does it stay on the rock and eat coralline or on the glass and eat film algae?

    It looks to be grey blue in coloration?

    I've seen it on both places though as it got bigger it tends to stick on the rock work

    Big ones like that can eat small mushrooms. Keep an eye on it.

    LFS has one thats 6" or so, still reef safe he claims.
