Hello. So my tanks been set up for a few weeks now and I'm starting to get this red/brown slime that seems to be growing only on the light colored surfaces inside the tank (substrate, pvc pipes). I did some research and think it might be diatoms? Just wondering if someone can confirm this. I've been scrubbing it off everyday for the past 3 days but it comes back even worse than the day before. Any tips to get rid of it? Or do I have to just wait for it to pass? Thanks

It looks like diatoms, since you said you just started your tank a few weeks ago, I would assume that it is just cycling and will go away after the cycle(once all the silicates are used).

    Good luck on your tank!
