Denitrate coil (how to make? and dose it really work?)

i make my own, i use red coral salt. the nitrate,nitrite,ammo. tests 0. how ever ph is a bit high.

 

so how much time and media will it require for my 15gal.?

 

i only have softies, and they are doing great.(dono why and how)

 

Normal amount of media for a 150 reactor, and take about a week to take em down.

 

Yea, go figure, you just never know about corals. ;D

 

If you just have softies and they are doing great I don't know if I would go to great lengths to try and bring it down. My moto if it ain't broke don't fix it.

he wants to know if your using RO/DI water.

 

I find it odd though, that at 50 and you dose vodka that you would get cyano. I dose 8mils twice a day, I don't have any cyano. And when I started dosing my trates were 200, and I didn't see any cyano when I was dosing 40mls a day.

 

not low but not deadly high....surprisingly nitrates dont start affecting fish until they hit near 500 but you will have tons of algae etc but your corals probably wont color up as nicely with high nitrates best bet is to keep it 10 or less but not the end of the world if its a little higher

also your test kit could be bad or the nitrates can be coming from your water source

 

wel u think it will work in TLF phosban 150? coz some one just told me that is has a gas release valve to release nitrogen out so its better to buy a sulphur reactor. i had already asked. are you using it in a i50 reactor or is anyone using it in a 150 reactor?
