Man I wouldnt just scrap that tank. Looks like there is already a couple people with 75s that are willing to just give you the panel you need. But even if you dont go that route, a local glass shop should be able to cut you a piece of non-tempered for the back. Then just clean up the edges on the tank with acetone and silicone the new back on. If you got the tank for 80 bucks originally then you are already ahead, just talk to some glass shops and replace the back.

Maybe it was 1/4"? It looks thick to me...maybe it's because it has black silicone so you can't see as much of the glass as you can with clear silicone.

I will take a picture tomorrow.

Etched into the glass? Hmm..I didn't see anything like that at all? I checked the sicker on the tank thought and it didn't say anything about being tempered(or not tempered). I didn't see anything about this in the 'warning'/warranty booklet that came with eh tank either.

The mark is very well hidden on some of their tanks. It is a circle that is roughly 1" in diameter and says "tempered tempered" in a ring with the letters "DS" in the center of the circle.

Who said anything about giving me a new panel?

I don't know...I don't really have the money for a build now anyway.

All i need for the 29 is a return pump and lights. Then I can have coral.

Hmm..could you get an estimate just to see how much it owuld be for a non-tempered back panel? Maybe also an estimate if it was drilled before I get it? maybe the fish store can drill it for me?

Hmmm...is that tempered as well? lol.

It's probably 3/8" glass(if not tempered) so would that fit with the same tank I have? Do I just need to redo the silicone?
