danger?

    i don't know if this makes any sense.
    but does yellow tangs pose any threat to clams?
    after i got my squamosa clam, the tang seems to like swimming
    near it, and then the clam get scared and closes up.

    no, yellow tangs are perfectly reef safe. There may be food inside the clam or the tang may just be curious, I wouldn't worry about it.

    the other thing is, should i get pytoplankton to feed it? or will it be fine on its own.
    it is a small one. 2.5 inches or so.

    another thing, im searching about it, and it says that, i need to put nitrogen in if there isnt enough, also that if the nitrate is low, i should make it 2mg/L for proper growth. ....i thought i was suppose to keep the nitrate levels as long as possible. aka 0 . =(

    I have a clam and don't worry about the nitrates. But clams should be fed some sort of phyto food until they are about 3 in. After that, they really almost entirely on light.
