So I bought my first 2 corals for my tank today and I have 2 hermits that keep going to one of the daisy plyps and picking at it. Grrrr. Should I just dispose of these things? I'm pretty sure that's what I should do, I just hate giving something the boot, it's easier with support. :/

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The hermits are just clean up or eating any goodies found on the new frags, very common and no intervention is warranted.

They could be eating/cleaning die off if the corals are new. My shrimp climb all over my corals and nothing happens. I have a peppermint that lives in a birdsnest, so you're crabs aren't doing anything bad.

Agree with the others- I've never had a crab or hermit harm a coral. They will pick at dead tissue, algae, detritus, etc between the polyps, which is beneficial to the entire system.

I have two Small Corals that hermits walked over for a little bit when I first got them, but they stopped.

Yeah, I wouldn't be concerned about them bothering corals, bothering snails is a different story...

After a couple days they haven't bothered with the Corals, but as soon as I put a new one it they were all over it, again ignoring it after a couple days. Thanks everyone for easing my mind.
