Cycle Confusion Nitrites & Nitrates Stuck Still High

    The macro algae should be helping to reduce the nitrates, so I would just let it grow and continue doing small PWC in the mean time. There are other products out there you can use to help decrease nitrates like micro bacter7 and purgien for example.

    By the way, when is the last time you changed out your filter media. Maybe you are leaching back into your water.

    Per earlier posts, have been doing with MB7...today is 8th day. It seems to have brought the nitrites to 0 but not seeing the benefit on nitrates.

    The Purigen has been in for 10-12 days (one pad) plus 2 Chemi-Pure now also 8th day. Pad still yellow...not brown at all.

    Filter sock has been changed regularly. Skimmer under 2 weeks and off 4-6 hours during MB7 dosing.

    That is really confusing to me. With you running all of that, I don't see why you would be having an issue with nitrates. Hopefully somebody will know.
