cup coral question

    my cup coral used to be a brownish color. the last few days it has turned very green. it is still seems to be happy but thought the color change might mean something.

    well if it is not covered with algae i would say its a good thing :) it most probably was green origionaly and at the shop turned brown and now back in ur tank it is happy and is turning green :)

    the guy who had it before me had it at least a year and it was always brown. but he had a lot different light than me. could this be a reason

    Color intensity and temperatures have a lot to do with coral coloration. If your bulbs are bluer, that could be why. Yellower bulbs increase growth, bluer bulbs help corals retain vibrant colors

    Depends on what color IMO. 6500K seems to bring out more pinks and greens, while 20KK seems to be better on the reds and blues.

    he had 4ft 110w vho's. 1 aquasun, 1 10k and 1 actinic. mine is directly under a 175w 10k metal halide
