It probably wouldn't. How big is your tank?

We need to know the size of tank and the wattage of the bulbs.

Don't worry you'll learn. It's best to have your setup in your signature so everyone can see and that you won't have to worry about it. Is that total or for each bulb?

So that would be 260w total. Well, I would say it's a toss up. People here have kept clams with fairly good success under pc lighting. I have a crocea clam under 216w of T5 lighting with the clam in the top third of the tank. However, T5 lighting is the most intense lighting and does penetrate better than pcs. If you get a small one, they don't rely fully on light for their nutrition, they also take in nutrients from the water. However, at about 3in. they will need more light then when they were smaller. You may get one and it do fine for a while but then it may go downhill. (They take a while to die). I would say go for it as long as you keep it up high, but keep these considerations in mind.

Oh, one more thing, they really should only be added to an established tank. They need very good water quality.
