Hello guys, I need and ID on this scary fellow I found tonight when looking at my sandbed with a flashlight. I hope he has not been dining on my coral... Help appreciated!

IME, hitchhiker crabs are usually not a good thing. If you see him again, try and catch/isolate him until you get a positive id and info on it

Looks like some sort of stone crab. Typically black tips on the claws are bad news.Hopefully pagojoe will chime in. I would definitely try to capture it.

Hitch hiker crabs aren't worth the risk. There's a reason they're not offered in the pet trade.

Thank you guys! Unfortunately I don't have a sump on my IM Nuvo tank. I will try to catch him and take it to my LFS, they usually let you put unwanted critters on one of their sumps.

    Cheers
