i have 2 coralife digital thermometers. 1 in my display, 1 in my fuge.
the tank read 81.7 last night. fuge read 80.1 (usual temp)
i switched the gauges and they read the same.
only diff is that the one in my display tank has pretty good coraline coverage.
do you think that could alter what temp it reads??

it sure can. I would take out the probe with the coraline on it and clean it in a 50/50 vinnegar / water solution to get it off.
