Coraline Algae In Different Colors??

    Hi guys I know about Coraline algae in purple , light purple, and pink are there other colors because I have some white stuff that looks like coraline and also some red stuff that is flat and hard like coraline is this good stuff or bad stuff. :confused: oh yeah GO BIG BLUE !!!!!!:first:

    If your coralline algae is white(bleached), then it is dead! I believe that it grows in green but definitely purples, reds, pinks and various shades of those colors. Much has to do with the lighting and water flow to determine growth and color!

    That's a good point about lighting and water flow, but I swear I had healthy white coraline before encrusting on rocks. Perhaps I mistaken. No biggie.

    So the little white dots I see on my rear glass are small "dead" spots of coraline algae?

    Ive had white coraline algae growing before, also red, pink, purple, green, grey, yellow and even blue. Coraline is a primitive form of deepwater SPS corals. It comes in all the same colors sps comes in.
