Ok, so we picked up a few corals this afternoon and was wondering about two of them. We picked up an XL Nemenzophyllia Fox Coral and a XL Brain Coral (Lobophyllia). What would be the best placement for these? We were thinking lower in the tank on rock..8)

My coral book says to place the fox coral near or at the bottom. As for the brain, it says you can put them just about anywhere. I would start them both somewhere near the bottom and slowly raise them.

Both are fairly hardy and lighting requirements are not as crucial as for many other types of coral! Start down low and raise slowly based on your lighting scheme and the lighting that was applied at your pet shop where you purchased them.
Also, both of them are meaty and delicate in terms of their tissue attached to their calcareous skeleton so subdued water flow is ideal to not disrupt the coral and deter the coral from opening up fully or injuring the coral by tearing the tissue from their skeleton.
Be careful with placement with neighboring corals to eliminate the chances of other more potent corals from stinging them as well.

Cool, thanks Lunatik and Reefer...that is what we were going to do, just wanted to make sure that they didn't need to go on the sandbed like open brains or plate corals...
