Coral ID & ???

    Is this a mushroom leather, and if so I thought they didn't have sweeper tentacles???

    They're not considerred sweeper tentacles, just long polyps.

    Will that polyp sting because it's got an 8" reach?

    The polyp, it look like a this piece of fishing line that it expands and retracts. My other leather doesn't do this...

    Hmmm, I didn't know leathers could do that! Those sweepers look just like the ones open brain corals have.

    Upon further review of the play I've decided that maybe my open brain wasn't the source of those sweepers at all! Maybe it had Comb Jelly issue of it's own and I didn't know it? That particular coral ended up dying. :eek:

    Time for more research....

    They can't. Those are the tentacles of a comb jellyfish that took up residence in the coral :)
