Can someone id this coral?
Not my strong suit, but I'll take a stab at it ... a 'Cat's Paw' - Stylophora Coral.
Let me know!
whoo hoo i found my coral book
its definitly a leather coral could be the cats paw i found a pic that looks just like it in my book looks like a type of sarcophyton sp. there seem to be several species so they look different but have the same type of care.
also heres a site for the sarcophyton
just to be sure i would check out both species with the scientific names listed above it makes it easier for u to find the info HTH
Karla it's a pretty crappy photo but I would be willing to bet it is not a Leather, it looks like a SPS to me.
I think the one next to it is a Pagoda.
C'mon Xabo do tell!
For what its worth i'd go with Matts ID on this coral. Sure dont look like a leather to me.
ok ok ive been outvoted i did say check out both species to be sure though
haha, bluereef is floating around here? That's great! ;D
Wow. Now bluereef brings up the cauliflower coral -

Yes,last few months, nice board you have here .I love this test thread,of course is almost imposible to id sps corals by picture(especially with blury pix)and with expanded polyps ,but is funy.
BTW I hate that common names(cauliflower) >,probably 20 diferent coral species have that name ;D
I hear you. Good to hear from you.
Separate names with a comma.
