I have a 75 gallon tank that I wanted to add some moderately light corals to, how many watts would I need for that? I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible. What are some corals that only need low light and are easy to keep? Thanks

well it all depends what you want? i have grown some star polyps and different kinds of mushrooms under two 96 watt power compacts. you can also look at some zoo's if you keep them high in the tank. the general rule of thumb is 3 to 5 watts per gallon. if you want to grow the lps you are better off looking at mh lamps. you can pick up a power compact DIY project for aprox 80 to 100 bucks. that is for two lamps. but being that you have a 75 gallon tank you would prob. want to go with some 65 watt lamps and get four of them, you will have better light coverage.

    any other questions?
