This is on my eBay watching list for a while, there's good and bad reviews (out of services after one week but got a replacement unit via 24-month warranty), I am still looking for more reviews before clicking the "buy it now" button ::)

I'm buying this one this week (hopefully): Reef Breeder's Dimmable 120 watt RGB Aquarium LED Fixtures | eBay

    I inquired about it:

    Bridgelux LEDs

The color is about 14k with both lights at 100%, and it can be adjusted.

    There are 120 degree optics

    55 bulbs: 27 royal blue, 4 blue, 18 cool whites, 2 reds, 2 green, 2 violet

The guy was quick to reply to me, twice. Thatgrimguy said that the service is good with him too.

120 degrees is the spread from the LED without optics.

Do you think that will be fine?

I think so as long as your tank isn't over 24" deep.

It's 17" 1/2 currently (will be used on a 21" tall tank soon). With that said, the light shouldn't be more than 7" above the current tank and 3" above the eventual tank?

I think that is a good plan.
