I have tried to keep a cleaner shrimp in my tank three times. Two from a lfs and one from liveaquaria.com. The MAJOR problem i have is they dont last more than a day. I have a VERY VERY healthy hippo tang and a TR false percula clownfish for two years . I think the shrimp are cool and my tang would like it but i cant figure it out. Liveaquria will send me a new one I just want to try to figure out my problem. I have dripped, i have floated i have done every acclimation that i know of . These things are rated EASY ha ha. I do a 10% water change every sunday i use ro/di water i try to everything rite i just cant figure it out Please help me !!!!!!

Do you dose iodine? Have you ever used copper in your system?

If you've ever used copper that could be the issue. What's the temperature. By the way, a 46 gallon is too small for a hippo tang.

I would suggest that you either:
    1. Stop dosing iodine.
    2. Start testing for iodine if you are going to dose.
And I would be suspicious of iodine poisoning to your new shrimp.

I have hermit crabs nothing very large. Do you think they are killing it??? As for dosing iodine i was just doing what my lfs told me they do. I will get a kit but i have read on here that the kits dont work that good. What one is the best?

I couldn't suggest a test kit because I just choose not to dose/control iodine. I have all kinds of inverts.

Yeah! I agree with missionsix! If I were you I would take my water to LFS and check for iodine. Moreover, do you run active carbon ?! If yes, please stop it. Carbon has got intrinsically high affinity for iodine! Good luck!
