Clavularia - New polyps?

    Hi!

    I purchased a small clavularia frag one week ago. It started growing what I thought were three new polyps (see picture, green arrows). One of them strongly attached to the live rock (the one in the red square). This makes me think they are not new polyps but some sort of attaching mechanism... what do you think?

    Hmm that might be a Snake Polyp, I kid not, that is the name. Still weird, not sure what to make of them.

    almost looks like a sponge just by the way it looks. I know a few on here who would just quarantine it just for the sake of it. I probably would just keep a close eye on it.

    Hi!

    Turns out that this is indeed the way Clavularia spreads. They generate tentacles to attach to nearby surfaces and then new polyps grow out of them. This little guy popped out today :)
