    a lfs store near me has clams like u have pictured there. Expensive store and i really dont like to shop there but they are around. Nice clams I like the turquiose ones and that last one the most.

    thanks guys some of them i really do miss. I ended up moving a couple of times and sell them and then pick up new ones once i settled again

    That is easily the prettiest T. gigas I've ever seen

    EDIT:NEVERMIND....I saw the size in relation to the other clams and didn't realize it was two different pictures. Still a pretty clam though.

    What kinda of clam do people put in Clam chowder? This is a serious question. How could someone, including me, eat something so beautiful? I may have to stop eating it! This hobby has given me new perspective. I may have to stop eating seafood!

    steamer or razor clams go into clam chowder usually a cold water ugly brown clam. nothing to worry about with clam chowder. You definately arent eating the pretty ones.

    Very nice specimens! I wonder why the "quality" of clams has gone downhill through the years. I haven't noticed this in our area but I haven't shopped for clams for quite a while.
