As long as your water params are good and your Ca, Mg, etc. levels are within range. Also, you lighting matters. What do you have?

I have two 36 watt 10,000k bulbs. One will need to be replaced soon.
Whats easier to keep, a clam or a flame scallop?

Definitely a clam. Flame scallops are very difficult to keep and don't live long in home aquariums.

I'm not sure about your lights, I'll let someone else chime in on that topic.

    They're both 10k?

They're PC, which means I'm going to say no on this one anyway, but I was wondering if they were really both 10k because the BC comes with 1 10k and 1 actinic, and I don't see why someone would get rid of the actinic lol.

Ah, the actinic gives a different color light, more in the blue spectrum. It makes colors pop more.

You can tell by looking at the bulb itself when it's on, or on the label of the bulb. Actinic bulbs are blue, and would be labeled "actinic".

Nope. There's 2 PC bulbs on a BC; one is 10k, which is nearly white, and the other is actinic, which is blue.
