So I just purchased a few clams the other day, And I have a funny feeling they arent marked correctly species wise. I would just like some reassurance that my gut feeling is right. They are marked as T.Derasa, But I feel that they are T.Squamosa.

They look like ORA Derasa to me. Can you get pics of the chutes?

Good call. I completely overlooked the visible chutes. I vote Squamosa.

The shell isn't smooth like a derasa on those first two. Look like a squamosa to me.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I agree they sure look a lot like squamosa, the scutes of the shell, the broad width of the shell. The coloration of the second looks very much like a derasa, but derasas have a nice smooth shell. Very interesting, I hope someone can give a definitive answer. But I agree they look squamosa to me.
