Ive got a 55gal dt and a 20gal sump, the sump is divided into three sections, the first to the right is the skimmer/overflow - the middle is a fuge with 3 inches live sand and some live rock, then the last after the bubble exchanger is the return pump....

I have tried a couple times but cannot get cheato to grow - it seems to die off over time, i thought it might be flow so I put some live rock walls around it to slow it down some. Im using a 6100k daylight 100watt bulb florescent bulb.

I have some grape cuplera (sp?) in there also and it is doing well, but cannot for anything get the cheato to grow. Ive been through 2 balls of it so far.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

What are your NO3 levels in your tank? That is the main source of food for macros. Without the food, no amount of lighting will make the macro grow. Test your NO3 levels. Also, do you have GHA in your DT?
