Hello my original mix was lower in Alk, Ca, and Mg, my new mix has much higher values. So do I need to change slowly like with my 10% water changes gradually or can I do larger water changes 20% or so? Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated, good reefing to ya....

I would just keep up with your normal water changes. I'm on my third brand on salt mix and never did anything different between water changes.

+1 just keep doing things like normal, you levels will slowly come up as you use the new salt.

Agreed. Just keep doing your normal water changes. No levels will change that drastically to cause any harm.

    Amazing timing

I had been using white/red bucket coral pro for a couple of years
and last week was my 1st water change 5% using the black bucket coral pro

Your right on the numbers - with Alk/ DKH being the most signifcant for my situation
previously I was getting about 9 - 9.6 from the old coral pro
with the new one I recorded 11.6

    what I did was
changed 5% of my water and did the math
I worked out that 95% of the water would be 8.0 and 5% would be 11.6

    or 19 parts x 8 and 1 part 11.6
add them up and divide by 20 and the DKH in my tank would be 8.18

OK so if I continued dosing at present rate, and changed another 5% next week etc etc etc - my DKH would start escalating

so all I did to compensate was reduce by 50% the amount at Alkalinity supplement I added on day of water change
easy to do by reducing the amount of fluid set on my doser (PS , yes I did remember to re set it back the day after)

thus test done following day, gave me the 8.0 I have my dosers set to maintain
