I've had this chalice for about a month now. My parameters are perfect. The only thing that has changed is my lighting.

I wanted to know if chalice's notoriously change to a brown color because:

    a) too much light
    b) not enough light

    Edit:
    c) could be either and so much more

    Increase or decrease in light?

I noticed in my tank that the chalice that are in too much light tend to lose most colors but pink and the flesh looks tannish/brown where the zoox left completely.

I also have found that one of mine really browned out when it got too much light.

What do you have for lighting now and what did you have before?

how much light did you increase at once? When you increased it did you leave it on the full light cycle or did you acclimate it? Chalice IMO are generally harder to keep and much more sensitive to changes. It could be still adjusting to the move from the store to your tank, could be the lights, could be high nutrients, etc.

Did you check phosphates and potassium levels. I lost a watermelon chalice very quickly because my phosphates were very high plus if it was a blue color and now it is brown, a low potassium can cause that.

IME corals will turn brown if there are too much nutrients. And too much light.

I didn't want the light type/brand to influence what people thought.

I was just trying to see if browning ALWAYS meant one or the other before I said which type of lights I have

We are asking what type of lighting because that is a factor in this.
