CFL or LED for macro algae in refuge

    I use the JBJ LED fuge light.. It's really bright but 55.00 was a little much. Overall nice product but there are other cheaper options out there.

    the fuge is probably the last place on your tank you want to worry about, i had a fuge with macro growing in it before i even had a light over it. the algae is nowhere enar as picky as the corals we have. a simple clamp on desk lamp will work wonders.

    would led be too much for the refuge? i want led coz they are compact and no need to change every 6 months like CFL.my fuge is 8"x8" and depth from dsb surface will be 10". the distance between the water surface and light will be approx 5"-6". leds are intense so im afraid they would burn my cheato. if not then ill go for led. this is what i wana know.
