capricornus coral dying?

    is this red slime growing over it? suprising since i have my powersweaper blowing right at it. any advice how to save this one?

    Frag the living tissue right away

    EDIT: Also, trade in that knobby starfish. They are NOT reef-safe at all. That is probably what killed 75% of your Monti.

    Also (not sure if related) you have what looks like Cyno bacteria, better address that.

    starfish

    i thought he was the culpret. my lfs sold him as bali star and said he was reef safe.

    would it be ok for me to put the starfish in my sump until i find him a new home?

    most likely the best place for it, and unless you have coral in there he could probably stay there. As Inwall75 said frag whats left and toss the rest, if you do it right away you might end up with some nice frags that will grow with time.

    yeah, he will do real well in your sump....esp if you have LR in there

    its a megaflow sump. so before i put him in there he will be ok with the skimmer and skimmer pump in there?
