    This is my "canopy."

I switched from the Sol's to 2 Vega's and I couldn't be happier with my lights and how the suspension looks over the tank.

I did get the bright idea that I might be able to fit some supplemental lighting into the canopy however so that when I want to take pics I can turn off the LED's and turn on something more traditional. A low wattage halide fixture or two or some low profile t5's is what I was thinking, but I can't find a fixture that will hide in here well. The gap between the Vega's is about 12 inches and the fixture is about 14 inchest wide. The total height is 4 inches.

    Any ideas?

If you just want to do this for photos, I feel buying a quality DSLR and learning how it use it to your advantage is a better allocation of funds.

I will do that too, right after my wife signs the Capital Purchase Authorization Form. I just understood LED's make really great pictures difficult. Is that not the case?

Only with non dslr cameras. You can get decent pics, its just difficult. sometimes for pictures i turn the white up or the blue down just to get a shot. I think if you did add t-5s the vegas would just drown them out and youd still have a hard time taking pictures.

What are you using for pictures now?

Right now I'm using an iPhone. The plan is to have the lights available and turn the Vega's off for the pics. If an SLR will eliminate the problem though, why clutter the canopy.

oh, I see what your saying. The iphone is bad for pictures in my opinion or at least on my tank because I keep it pretty blue. My samsung infuse did pretty good though.
