I left my frozen fish food out overnight and awoke to a smelly situation... Can I refreeze the food for future use or will I be endangering my fish?

so say you left a frozen chicken breast out over night, would you rethaw it and think it safe to eat? NO

so don't do it to your fish.

Is it smelly - rotten, or just smelly - fishy? The stuff smells like hell even fresh. If it was just overnight, I would (and have) re frozen it with no problems. Your fish would eat it, rotten or not, but I bet it's fine. Remember most of them wouldn't hesitate to pick apart one of their dead buddies rotting away in the tank.

IME Poor advice.Rotten food can and will make your fish sick. Most reefers I know would not leave a dead decaying fish in the tank .If the fish is picked at right after dieing it is not rotten.

I wouldn't even think about risking my livestock over a $6/7 pack of food. And I sure wouldn't eat left over Long John Silvers after it sat out overnight.
