I have a 50 gallon garbage can I use for changes. I used a good part of it about 2 weeks ago and there has been about 10 or 15 gallons just sitting. No pumps, no heater, no nothing. My question is can I just top it off with fresh water and add salt then use it? I usually take the bucket in my yard periodically to clean it but temp is in the low 30's so thats not gonna happen.
    Thanks for any info.

I do something similar, no problems for me.

I'm sure there's someone who will say otherwise though

Ok thanks. Normally I would dump it but it will be a pain for me to do now.

I do about the same as well. I'd run a pump for a little bit just to stir the mix back up before adding it to your system.
