I was wondering if an overflow box could be used on a Biocube 29? Want to start a sump/refugium.

Instead of using an overflow box, I would drill for a bulkhead in the back of the stock filter area. That way, it overflows from the tank into the filter area, then flows from that out the back to your sump.

Yes, you can use an overflow box. I have one on mine right now. It's rated for 300gph, anything else doesn't fit I don't think. Mine is currently sitting in the middle chamber. I also have a reactor whose pump is in the last chamber that way there is water movement in there. The return from my fuge is plumbed straight into the original return hole.
