So I figured that I should finally set up a build thread for my tank. A lot of the rebuild is done, but I'll let you guys and girls know what I've already done and what I'm planning on doing to the tank.

I just tested my water levels ( I haven't tested for calcium, pH, mag, or alkalinity yet):

    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: Very close to 0, probably because I don't have any fish yet :)
    Phosphate: 0.5

    Equipment:

Fishneedit 2 bulb T5 fixture with 2 Giesemann Atinic+ bulbs.
    CPR HOB skimmer with a Maxi-jet 1200.
Cheap Petco powerhead, that actually puts out a lot of flow.
    50 watt submersible heater.

    Livestock:

About 20 pounds of live rock
    About 35 pounds of sand
    Chaetomorpha
    Mangroves

    Coral:

    Green Birdsnest
    Torch Coral
    Duncan
    A bunch of Zoas/Palys
    Goniastrea Brain
    Kryptonite Candy Cane
    Red Blasto
    Meteor Shower Cyphastrea

    Inverts:

2 Astraea Snails (They're all that I've bought since the tank crash. I will be buying a bigger CuC shortly)

I'll take some pics later :)

Sounds like you're off to a good start on the rebuild, but...

    Where are those pics? :D

    Thanks :)

And sorry, my iPod is dead right now, but it's charging. Here's a kind of outdated vid to hold you over for now. I have since added a Torch Coral and some Fire and Ice and Green Bay Paker Zoas, but some of the Fire and Ice Zoas seem to have melted away

    But anyway, here's the vid ;) :

So I've been trying to get some good pics with my iPod, but I can't seem to have any luck with that :-/

Do you know a good camera that would take good pictures of my tank for relatively cheap (< $300)?

I see atleast 7 corals in your list that depend heavily on ca and alk. I would start testing that asap and work on a dosing regimine if needed. Most of the time, people can get away without doing so but they don't get very good growth (most of the time).

Well everything seems to be growing without a problem, so I think that they are fine. I'm doing a 5 gallon water change every two weeks with Reef Crystals. Thanks for your concern, though :)

And bump for my previous question :)

I would still test CA and ALK at least, good idea to test corraline as well. A lot of what you percieve as growth might be expansion of soft tissues and not actual growth of hard skeleton.

Do you have any coralline growth??

As for camera, I use a Sony from bestbuy that was like udner $200 and it takes decent pictures. Would use my wifes Nikon if I could figure out how it worked! lol

Sorry, that's not what I meant. I will still definitely check the levels, I'm just saying that I don't think that I'll need to dose :)

What kind of Sony camera do you have and what Nikon camera does your wife have, PghSteeler?

Hi Cam. It's amazing to me that that tank is only 29 gallons....it looks a lot bigger than that....
