LOL.....and half of them are RHS-10ATC model.

    Reefer #1: I have an RHS-10ATC refractometer.
    Reefer #2: Oh, that's a good one.
Me: I'm tired of fighting with people. It may be great, it may be trash......I truly don't know. ::BIG SIGH::

Ok so I am really confused now. I got the calibration fluid in. I about crapped my pants when the refractometer read 1.030. I adjusted it to 35 ppt and immediately checked my aquarium and it showed 1.026. I rechecked with the fluid again and rechecked the aquarium and everything is 1.026. The tank is 79.5 degrees and the inside temp is 70ish. Any insight? Am I good to go?

Oh and also I am pretty sure my refractometer is one of the generic Chinese ones.

You're good to go. 35ppt is ROUGHLY 1.0265 so your readings make sense.

I was just concerned with the first calibration fluid reading of 1.030. Then I adjusted it and the aquarium read 1.026 like it should have. Should I use the fluid before I use the refractometer every time?

I must have bought a crappy one then cause if I calibrate with RO/DI water and then check it with calibration fluid mine reads about 0.003 off.

I always found the best way to recalibrate a refractometer is use sterile water, kept at hospitals...
It's the best to use for recalibrating any instrument for H2o

LOL... It's not often that something down to the 10 thousandths is categorized as "roughly". ;D
