I purchased this reactor due to the price and ratings. I was having a little bit of hair algae and cyanobacteria, and I thought this would only benefit my tank, so I purchased it, and the maxi-jet 1200 it requres to run. When it showed up at my door I was suprised at how big and heavy it was. It felt very well made. After a few mods to my sump and stand, everything was hooked up and ready to roll. After only two days I noticed that all the cyanobacteria, and alot of the hair algae was gone. Also, my corals seemed happier and the water was clearer. (Btw, I'm running both carbon and GFO.) The reactor makes no, or very little noise. Overall, the reactor is a great buy, and value. I would highly recomend this product. Two thumbs up to BRS. ;D

Its a nice piece of equipment. I have mine running on a 600 maxi, but i bought the 1200 too. I have chemi pure elite in it right now. Ive had a problem with the sponge floating and spilling my media, but im running next to nothing in it, i only have 20 gallon tank. Its designed to have some weight in it. But ill def buy another for my 75 no doubt about it.

I may upgrade to the new filter cartridge they have, but who knows.

I own the next model up which is black with the Maxijet 1200. I love mine. It's rock solid and using BRS Rox .8 Carbon.

I do agree with others that have stated using this fine carbon with this setup is a pain to maintain, do to the carbon gets caught in the sponges.

Though I have fixed this issue with some very easy modifications. I will post on the DIY thread soon.

Thanks for the review. I was going to buy the dual version, but ran out of funds lol. It is the "to-buy" list lol. Glad to hear that the results are almost immediate! :) Very cool!
