The time is near to replace my bulbs. Currnetly I have three fixtures suspended above the tank @ 12" with a tank depth of 30" on my 220 gallon. I have my ballast currently set to 400W, although it is selectable to 250W as well. The bulb is a single ended mogul base type bulb. Was thinking 20000K...(or maybe like 14000K in the middle fixture and 20000K on the ends).

After some suggestions both on manufature and arrangement of bulbs.

I just replaced my bulbs 2 weeks ago. I went with 20k radiums. There amazing as far as color rendition. I have a friend that has a 3 bulb fixture and did 2 20k and 1 14k, just didn't look right. The other bulbs made the 14 look really yellow. The radiums have a perfect balance in my opinion.

Good advice on all 20000K bulbs and not a combo. Radiums seem to be the better investement over phoenix from what I have read.

I've had such great growth with my radiums I can't switch. The color pops too. Not too blue and no yellow. I think you'll be good with all radiums. I didn't realize how bad I needed bulbs until I put new ones in. Lol.

If you want a lot of color, go with the 20K. Radium is a nice bulb. If you want slightly less blue but brighter, go with Hamilton 14K. Both are my favorites for MH bulbs.
